Swim Lessons at Oak Park
Coach Sophie is offering
Sophie's Swim School HERE.
Swim lessons are offered by swim team coaches. Swim lessons are not meant to take the place of the swim team but are a supplement for swimmers wishing to target specific skills. In addition, swim lessons are offered to swimmers that are not yet eligible for the swim team (3 years old and younger).
Lessons are $25 for 25 minutes with lessons being scheduled every 30 minutes. This allows the coaches to refresh quickly before their next lesson. Please be mindful of time.
To get the most out of your time please have your swimmer already in the water, with swim cap and goggles on, before the start of your time. Remind them to use the restroom before their lesson. These are the main distractions from their scheduled time.
As lessons are meant to target a specific skill, please indicate in the sign up genius comments section what you are hoping to accomplish or work on in your sign up. This is the most effective way to communicate your wishes with the coaches. It will also allow the coaches to create a plan ahead of time on how to best meet these needs and give them their full attention during the lesson.
To sign up for lessons please pick a slot that is already touching another lesson or practice time. For example, if you would like a lesson at 3:00 and the next lesson isn’t until 4:00, you must either take the 3:30 slot or check back to see if/when that 3:00 slot becomes available. Any slots that create gaps will be deleted.
Please do not contact coaches directly asking about lessons. If you would like lessons, these are the times they are available. Given our size and the requirements of coaching the swim team first, coaches are simply unable to respond to emails and texts specific to just your swimmer about lessons. If you have a general swim lesson question that can be directed to [email protected].
If you aren’t already, we highly encourage you to join the swim team. Swim team is where swimmers get a foundation for swimming, not lessons.
