Oak Park Piranhas

Located in Raleigh, North Carolina, the Oak Park Piranhas is a summer swim team for kids ages 4–18—and we do things a little differently. We believe swimming should build confidence, friendships, and joy, not feel like a year-round grind.

While we love a good race and always show up ready to compete, our focus is on learning proper technique, supporting one another, and having fun along the way. Practices are designed to help each swimmer grow at their own pace, with weekly goals that build skills without overwhelming them. Our mentoring program pairs swimmers together so everyone has encouragement, guidance, and a sense of belonging.

This is a team where cheering is loud, effort is celebrated, and improvement matters more than perfection. We’re here to help kids become strong swimmers—and even better teammates.

And the fun doesn’t stop at the wall. From our annual pool lock-in (complete with a silent synchronized swimming contest and chocolate chip pancakes at sunrise) to our trip to Emerald Pointe and our “secret” end-of-season parade, the Piranhas summer is full of moments kids remember long after the last meet.

Our goal is simple: create a positive, supportive environment where swimmers build skills, confidence, and friendships—and leave with a lifelong love of the water.
