Greetings Piranha Parents!

We have our first HOME meet of the season Tuesday evening, 6/24, at 6:00 versus LifeTime Athletic Raleigh. Below is some logistical information for the meet.

Parking

Please allow our visitors to use the two pool parking lots. If you are not close enough to walk to the pool, would you kindly park along Connell Drive and utilize the Piranha Path to get to the pool?

Warm-Ups

As the home team, we will warm-up from 5:00-5:30. Please have your swimmers on deck and ready to go by 4:45 pm.

Volunteers

Thank you to those who have volunteered to help with the meet! When you arrive, please check in with Rich, Holly, or James at the picnic tables near the snack bar. There will be a meeting for judges and timers at the Starter’s Podium at 5:40. We are still in need of one timer and an Order of Finish Judge. No experience is needed for either position. Concessions

We have a team-run concession stand during home meets with proceeds benefiting the swim team. This Tuesday, we will be serving Slices of Marco’s Pizza, Nachos, and Hot Dogs, along with a selection of snacks, sweets, and drinks. Cash and cards are accepted. (There is a $5 minimum to use a credit card.)

If you are able to donate some homemade goodies for the concession stand, please sign-up here. Homemade goodies are super popular sellers and really help increase fundraising for the swim team.

Timing System

We will continue using TimeDrops as our timing system this year! Scott has even engineered a scoreboard to debut at this week’s meet. We will, hopefully, also be able to implement the use of TimeDrops Live this year, which is an app where parents can see swimmers’ times immediately! If you remember, we used this at Meredith Townes last year. As parents, you download the app TimeDrops Live, and then we give you a code just before the meet starts to access the times.

Spectators and Deck Area

The visiting team’s deck area is between the slide and the 2-ft. section of the pool. Our area is on the far side of the pool towards the diving well. We suggest bringing folding chairs. Please watch and cheer from the far side of the pool and the shallow end. Only timers and meet officials should be in the starting block and Clerk of Course areas.

Event Entries

Please make sure you have declared in SwimTopia whether or not your swimmer(s) will be attending by the end of the day tomorrow. Anyone undeclared will not be entered in the meet.

You can see your swimmers’ events on the SwimTopia website or mobile app once the Heat Sheets are published Tuesday afternoon. Swimmers should report to the Clerk of Course prior to each event to ensure they are in the right lane at the right time.

We will have a bonus event for our 6&U swimmers immediately following their breaststroke event. 6&U’s who want to compete in the 25-meter butterfly should report back to the starting blocks immediately following their breaststroke heat.

50/50 Raffle

We will be doing a CASH ONLY 50/50 raffle during the meet for $2 per entry (3 for $5). The drawing will be held immediately following the 6&U Butterfly (right after 6&U Breaststroke).
