Oak Park Swim Team,

Our second meet of the season is tomorrow. Details are below. 

Please arrive by 5:15 (at the latest) so that the kids are ready to begin warming up at 5:30.

Parking

There are four parking lots. The first is directly in front of the pool (between the pool and Norwood Rd), and the second, smaller one is past the older pavilion down the main entrance driveway. See the mapfor more info. The first lot – the one in front of the pool/playground will be primarily reserved for your families.

If that lot fills up, there are two other lots. As you come down the entrance drive, turn left just before the older pavilion. As you go past the TreeRunner course, one lot will be up to the left, by the upper basketball courts/newer pavilion, and the other will be down to the right, on the far side of TreeRunner ropes course. There is a paved path from that lot that runs behind TreeRunner directly to our building. (It’s much shorter than walking back along the driveway.) It’s well-lit and has signs.

Set Up at Pool

We have a 6 lane, 25 yard pool. When you enter the pool deck, your team’s designated area is the area right in front of you as you enter the pool area through the gate. There are a few chairs and tables but not many, so please encourage your families to bring chairs. Our pool deck also is in direct sun, so feel free to bring canopies.

The diving board and slide will be closed for the duration of the meet - please ensure your swimmers do not go near the slide or diving board equipment. Complete pool rules for the JCC can be found here.

As the host team, we will warm up from 5:00 to 5:30. The pool will be available for your team to warm up from 5:30 to 6:00.

Concessions

The JCC does not have a dedicated concession stand, but we will have a food truck, Mac House, on site from 4:30 to 8pm. You can see their menu here: https://streetfoodfinder.com/MacHouse?tab=menu.

Your families are also welcome to bring coolers and their own food. For everyone’s safety, no alcohol, tobacco, or glass containers are allowed on the pool deck during the meet.

Volunteers

The volunteer meeting will be held at 5:45pm behind the starting blocks. Your team will need the following volunteers:

• A meet administrator with a computer (wifi must work).
• Six timers.
• One clerk of course.
• One stroke and turn judge.
• Kid pushers for your team
