First Swim Meet Tomorrow at Hedingham

The first swim meet of the season is tomorrow evening at Hedingham! Below, you'll find all the details regarding the meet.

Directions:
From the 440 Beltline, take the US 64 Business exit (13B) toward Knightdale. Turn left onto New Hope Rd. Turn right onto Willow Oak (entrance to Hedingham) and take your second left into the pool parking lot.

Parking:

Your team may park in the pool lot. Overflow and home team parking is available along Willow Oak Road. Carpooling is strongly encouraged due to limited space.




๐ŸŠ Pool Setup & Facilities

Set Up at Pool:



  • Team Location: Your team will be on the left side of the pool.
  • Seating: Please bring chairs, as seating is limited.
  • Meet Admin: Meet Administrator, data entry, TSA Rep, and ribbon labeler tables will be in the far right corner of the deck.
  • Tent/Canopy: Feel free to bring one for your side of the pool.

Pool Specs:



  • 6-lane, 25-yard pool
  • Your team will swim in lanes 2, 4, and 6 for scoring
  • Wi-Fi is available and the deck is well-lit



๐Ÿ”ฅ Warm-Ups & Meet Timeline



  • Deck opens: 4:30 PM
  • Visiting Team Warm-Up: 5:30 PM
  • Volunteer Meeting: 5:45 PM (far right corner by data entry)
  • Meet Start: 6:00 PM



โฑ Timing System

We will use the Dolphin timing system. Please bring 6 timer volunteers (2 per lane) and 1 Order of Finish (OOF) Judge. Timers will still write down times on paper as a backup in case of any issues with the system, though itโ€™s been running smoothly.



  • The Dolphin timers will auto-start when the starter signals. Timers will only be required to stop their timers and write their times down.
  • Both teams will have 1 timer per lane.
  • If there are no swimmers in a lane, the timer should "blank" their lane.

Training Video: Hereโ€™s a short training video on how the Dolphin timers work, which we will also review at the start of the meet. A head timer will be on deck to assist if needed.

We will provide the place judge forms (OOF) and lane timer sheets. Ribbon labels will be printed, so no ribbon writer is needed.

Please note: itโ€™s important that both timers in each lane time every event and heat. If a timer walks away and leaves the timer on, the system will average times and cause inaccuracies. If no swimmer is in their lane, the timer should "blank" their lane.

We will have a cashless concession stand offering:


  • Hot dogs, pizza, nachos w/ cheese
  • Chips, candy, snow cones
  • Soda, Gatorade, bottled water
  • Accepted Payment: Credit/Debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay

Pizza Pre-Orders (Large Cheese or Pepperoni):


  • Submit your order by 10:00 AM on Tuesday.
  • Pickup will be at 6:00 PM at concessions.

๐ŸŽ‰ Fun Additions


Coaches / Parents Relay: At the end of all breaststroke events, we will host a "fun" relay event. Feel free to gather a team of coaches and parents from your side (weโ€™re planning to have 2 teams on ours).
50/50 Raffle (CASH ONLY):


  • $2 for 1 ticket | $5 for 3 tickets
  • Winner announced after breaststroke, just before the relay
  • Perfect timing for families with younger swimmers to participate before heading out
