Congratulations on another successful swim meet last night and congratulations to the Jewish Community Center for their victory. We appreciate their hospitality and sportsmanship. I know the weather looked dicey, at best, as we left OPK yesterday, but what a pleasant surprise to make it through the meet with no rain or thunder! Thank you to all the coaches, athletes, parents, and sponsors who helped make for a successful first meet. Oak Park had 59 swimmers swim a total of 229 entries last night! Additional information and follow-up from the meet is below:

Volunteer of the Week

Many thanks to everyone who volunteered at last night's meet! This week, we want to highlight Rich Harley as this week's Volunteer of the Week! Last night, Rich served as one of the Clerks of Course (CoC). The Clerks of Course ensure each swimmer is where they need to be and ready to go for their event. They manage lane changes, combining events and heats, and more! Rich is especially appreciated for his "How can I help?" attitude and flexibility he brings to the meet each week. Thank you, Rich!

Looking Ahead

Our next meet is Tuesday, July 11, at home vs. Hedingham. Warm-ups will be 5:00-5:30 and the meet will begin at 6:00 pm. Parents MUST declare their swimmer's intent to participate no later than midnight on Saturday, July 8. If a swimmer is not declared, they will NOT BE ENTERED IN THE MEET. Please double-check your swimmer's declarations to ensure accuracy, as making changes once the meet has been seeded is cumbersome and stressful.
